The Lord has continued to be faithful to us throughout 2017! Its been another year of change for our
family, and we are all growing.
It’s hard to believe, but we are in the middle of our fifth year back in
Maine USA, after our six years in Hong Kong. Alex and Chika have finished high school and are now both enrolled at
the University of Maine at Orono.
Alex is in his
Junior year and has a double major in mechanical engineering and computer
programming. His current dream is
to finish at college, get a good job, and work towards owning his own
company one day. He
has been blessed with internships over the summers and Christmas holidays. We praise the Lord for his deliverance
recently when he got into a motorcycle accident and came away with a few broken
fingers, even though he flipped over his handlebars and was thrust forward onto
the pavement. The doctor even said,
“you must have an angel looking after you, it’s almost unbelievable.”
Chika is a sophomore and majoring in bioengineering. He is enjoying having his own apartment
with friends as he lives off-campus, and learning all about the responsibilities
that come with such a move. He has
a great job on campus with tech support and is also part of a research project
related to his major. He is
hoping to get an internship this coming summer. He has volunteered two summers in a row at Soulfest, a
week-long Christian concert event in the White Mountains, New Hampshire and it has solidified
his desire to do something meaningful with his life to help those less
fortunate than himself. The Lord
has given him a huge heart of compassion and it’s exciting to see! He is currently sponsoring two children
through Compassion International.
Henry has been working at Lonza pharmaceutical company for
the last three years and has recently moved from
manufacturing to research and development. This means his hours are more standard. He now works 7:00-3:30, as opposed to
12-hour days with a two week rotating schedule. He is also busy managing our rental property, which has been
a huge blessing for us here. His
passion is to minister in the local community and pray for people as he shares
God’s love for them. Last spring,
he planned a two-week vacation to Argentina and Belize with Tamari.
It was our first trip to South America and we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing, checking out these new cultures, and eating lots of delicious food!

Tamari is in the middle of her second year of waitressing at
The Lobster Cove (a seafood restaurant) and
also involved in children’s church leadership at Christian Life Church. She is leading the preschool and
toddler classes and gets energized by spending time with these beautiful
children! She is working hard at
convincing Henry that the family should move overseas again for another block
of time so that she can return to teaching in the formal setting. Henry
is feeling pretty settled in the house we bought a few years ago and trying to
muster the energy that will be needed to uproot, move and get set up all over
again.
Finally, we have added a daughter to our family. We first met her two summers ago when
she came to stay with us for respite care. Her foster parents were going away and needed someone to
take care of her while they were gone.
We spent those two weeks together and then the Lord opened the door for
her to become a permanent part of our family. She is very energetic, friendly, helpful, curious, and
smart. We are all adjusting to
life as a family of five and having a daughter and sister around!
We certainly have so much to be thankful for as we
enter into 2018! Our prayer is
that God’s love and blessings will totally overwhelm you all in this coming year.
Blessings,
The Nduaguibes
